Referral Day - May 16, 2011!!!

“An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place, or circumstance. The thread may stretch or tangle but will never break.”

…such is the proverb that is well known in the China adoption community and which for us symbolizes our faith in knowing that we will be led to the baby girl that is meant to be our daughter.

As many of you know, in June of 2006, Ben and I embarked on our journey to adopt a baby girl from China.  For the last 5 years, we have prayed that we would one day be joined with our daughter.

On April 28th of 2010, a baby girl was born miles and miles away in Nanyang, China.  This baby girl was brought to the Nanyang social welfare institutue and it is then that her wait began to find her own Mommy and Daddy, her own forever family.

On May 16^th, 2011, Ben and I received the news of a lifetime!  This is the day we first laid eyes on OUR sweet baby girl from China and our hearts melted.  In a matter of a moment, we knew these last 5 years of waiting have led us to this day…we have finally found our baby girl!!!!

Five long years of…waiting, anticipation, paper-chasing, delays, heartache, preparation, hopeful day-dreaming, and many, many prayers…have all unfolded into this very single day…our Referral Day…one of the happiest days of our lives!

…An invisible red thread has made it’s match…now may that red thread grow tighter and tighter as we wait the many days ahead before we can bring our sweet baby girl home to her Forever Finney Family!
